Shining Tor is often overlooked in the Peak District, but is without doubt one of my favourite spots, and not just because you’ll usually have it to yourself. There are endless photogenic grit stone walls and stunning views out west to the skylines of Manchester, Liverpool and the mountains of North Wales on a clear day.
